Anatomical Models and Biospecimens

The collection is comprised of digital images taken of the anatomical models and biospecimens retained in the Historical Collections and Archives. The majority of this collection was received from the Department of Cellular Biology and Anatomy on the Augusta University’s Health Sciences Campus over the course of many years. The models and specimens were used in the teaching of human anatomy to students in the Medical College of Georgia, Dental College of Georgia, College of Allied Health Sciences, and College of Nursing. The oldest items in this collection are from the 19th century while most of the items are from the mid-20th century.
