Abstract

Description

An anatomical model of the human face, neck, and shoulders. On the side of the model not facing the viewer, part of the face is seen with the skin and hair attached. The nose is shown fully covered with skin. On the side facing the viewer, the brain, face and neck muscles, bloodvessels, and nerves are seen. In the mouth region, the top row of the teeth are seen on one side and two teeth on the bottom row are shown. The lower part of the jaw is cut to show the tongue and the throat muscles. One side of the brain is seen. The eyeball is seen with the attached muscles. The cervical vertebrae in the neck are covered in the front by muscle, blood vessels, and nerves. The shoulders sit on an elevated stand that sits on a rectangular wooden board that is painted black on top. Part of the skin on the shoulders are removed to show the heads of the humerus bones or shoulder bones as well as the clavicle which has been cut. The muscles attached to the clavicle are seen as well as some blood vessels. One of the humerus bones have been badly chipped. Part of the stand underneath it is chipped as well. The skin is a pink or peach color, and the hair on the head is a dark brown. The muscles are a brick-red color with lines that represent striations. The veins are a medium blue, the arteries are red, the nerves are light blue, the brain is a peach color, and the teeth are white. The dimensions of the board is 16" x 8.5" x 1.75". The dimensions of the model on the wooden stand are 14.5" x 3" x 11". Overall, the dimensions are 16" x 8.5" x 12.75". The stand has a sticky label with "137" written in black ink. The front of the stand has a label that is mostly peeled off and unreadable; looks like it was written in a foreign language and something to do with "Nicolas". Underneath the stand is a label written in a foreign language. On the back of the neck is the letter "M" written in black marker. Year range is estimate. Weight: 4 lbs, 13.7 oz.
