Abstract

Description

A suction filter for blood. Taped on the side of the filter's outlet is a label that reads "Swank Blood Microemboli Filters" and "Continuous Suction Filter CA 100". Stamped onto the casing is the U.S. Pat. No.: 3 448 041 and 3 593 854. On the side of the inlet, the casing has where the filter was made. It was made in "Pioneer Filters Inc. Swank Suction" and "Made in U.S.A." According to the exhibit card, this suction blood filter is from the early 1970s. It was used to filter out blood clots. Dimensions are: 4.4" Diameter; weight: 5.4 oz.
