Abstract

In this video, Diana Toro and Nick Trinh, both current M.D. Candidates at the Medical College of Georgia and graduates with a B.S. in Biochemistry from the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology, unravel the mysteries of how the coronavirus infects our cells and what sets the new coronavirus apart. First, we delve into the world of viral cell entry, breaking down the intricate process by which SARS-CoV-2 infiltrates our cells, highlighting the role of the human receptor ACE2. We provide a detailed look at the virus's interaction with ACE2, shedding light on the mechanisms underlying infection.
