Abstract

Description

Glass jar containing skull of bowfin fish. There are wing-shaped fin-like structures at the top of the head. There are pointy teeth at the bottom, which looks like the jaw. In the back of the head, there is labelling of the bone and cartilage of the head written in black ink. Areas have been diagrammed and numbered. There is a plastic looking tube in a hole that is in the middle of the head. It is probably used to keep the mouth open. The label on the top of the jar says: "65 W 1415 AMIA CHONDRO. AND DERMAL." Dimensions of the jar: 6.75" H x 3.5" L (diameter); weight: 2 lbs, 3.5 oz.
