Description

This was the seventeenth volume of the Southern Medical and Surgical Journal. The volume year ran from January 1858 to December 1858. This volume includes Dr. Louis A. Dugas' article on diagnosing shoulder dislocations (the "Dugas Sign") as well as a six-part epidemiology study on malaria by Dr. Joseph Jones. Also included: The list of the Medical College of Georgia 1858 graduates and reports from the annual meetings of the Georgia Medical Society and American Medical Association.
