Abstract
5.06 Continuing Education: Content Validation Policy: The Division of Continuing Education and Georgia Health Sciences University faculty are responsible for ensuring that the educational design and production of presentations and reference materials are in compliance with the appropriate professional disciplines and accrediting agencies. All clinical recommendations involving clinical allied health sciences, dentistry, nursing, or medicine in a Continuing Education activity must be based on evidence that is accepted vvithin the respective profession as adequate justification for their indications and contraindications in the care of patients. All scientific research referred to, reported, or used in a Continuing Education activity in support or justification of a patient care recommendation must conform to the generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection, and analysis. All recommendations, treatment or manners of practice discussed in a Continuing Education activity must be vvithin the definition of Continuing Education and must not be known (a) to have risks or dangers that outweigh the benefits or (b) to be ineffective in the treatment of patients.
